The advent of online trading has come with its fair share of challenges with many people conned of their hard earned cash for goods not delivered.Kenyans have not been left out either especially with Chinese products where many have paid huge sums of money and ended up importing substandard goods. However in a bid to curb this fraud, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry has partnered with Amanbo, a Chinese online trading platform to enable Kenyan manufacturers sell their goods to China as well as import genuine Chinese products.
To ensure security and trading of genuine products only, goods posted on the platform will be traceable by both the Chinese and Kenyan governments with Kenyan Manufactures being urged to leverage on the platform to escape fraud.According to Kitonny, the agreement is one of the fruits of President Kenyatta’s visit to China mid this year with Kenyans poised to save a lot on transportation costs among others when importing or exporting goods to China.Kitonny says they are also reaching out to the Chinese government to have Kenya’s traditional exports of flowers, coffee and tea access the Chinese market more easily.
